Hi everyone! this is me from MIddleton H.S., after MIddle school we all got split up and I missed out on a lot of good people (contact).
My younger sister was Cindy Russell that passed away in 1982, and is truly missed by all. I would love to hear from any of my childhood friends from C.E. Williams, before we went off to separate H.S.
Wishing everyone the best in life and accomplished all your dreams and goals.
Regards,
Jeanne (Russell) Perrington

Thanks to Linda, Dena, Carla, Raul, Dottie, Eddy and everyone who helped plan and perfectly execute the reunion.  I can't tell you how much fun it was to see everyone again and compare war stories!!! A special thanks, also, to all the spouses, mine included, who were there for moral support - it was a pleasure to meet them all. And, as for all the girls and guys I pulled onto the dance floor . . . my husband with his two blown football knees sends his condolences for having to dance with his crazy wife (: Hopefully we can all get back together for the cruise (YES, FROM CHARLESTON WOULD BE GREAT) after I've done two years-worth of stomach crunches.  Until then, please stay in touch.  My e-mail is sherilturner@aol.com.

P.S. I've just posted some pictures to the blog page and there are some really good ones of everyone.

My husband, Greg, and I had such a great time at the reunion.  It exceeded our expectations in every way.  I had so much fun catching up with old friends!  Greg commented on the fact that everyone was incredibly nice and genuine.  Thank you to the committee for putting together such a special event.  The work that went into it must have been overwhelming at times but, you made a whole lot of people really happy and provided us with lifetime memories.  I hope you all know how grateful I am to have been a part of such a neat highschool with so many special people.

WOW! - The entire weekend far exceeded my expectations. As Ed Pettus said at Sundays Farewell Service - I really had no interest in the 10 or 20 year reunion - Why? - I guess maybe I wasn't ready to "face it", but something about the 30 year was different. And now that it's over - I truly wouldn't trade it for just about anything. As the time got closer, I found myself getting more and more excited - but still "somewhat uncertain" - From the time I walked into the Marriot and walked right into Linda Shaw - it started to immediately be like old times. Friday night was very special because I saw so many people I haven't seen in 30 years - (well just about everyone) - and there were so many people that were not in the class of '78, but still it was so neat - The Golf outing on Saturday was more fun than I've personally had in a long time. As Bert said it seems after about the first 10 or 15 minutes of initial catching up it was like we were right back together joking and laughing like 30 years ago. What a great time - Saturday night was really special because my wife Mary was able to be there (unlike Friday) and I truly wanted her to meet everyone and wanted ya'll to meet her. Thank you all for making her feel welcome. For those of you who didn't attend Sunday morning, in my opinon you missed another "special time". I can say I always knew Ed, but not well. After this weekend I feel in the short time, I have more in common with Ed and Barbara than I ever would have thought (from one Presbyterian to another) - Thank you Ed.
I know I'm rambling, but hopefully this expresses my feelings of gratitude to everyone involved (to whatever extent) in planning and organizing such a great weekend. Linda, Raul, Bert, Ed, Carla, and Dena - Thank you so much  - It was a Special Time - Jerry Hayes

I can't believe the past 8 months. They have been wonderful. New memories.. too many to count. New friends... yes and no.. really its been reconnecting with everyone who, given time, I probably would have found anyway.  Unlike highschool.. I let go and let God take the reins... I have learned so much.  The reunion has given me opportunity to  find myself in so many other wonderful people that share the same beginnings.  Each of us has defined success in our own way, but each of us  shares their history as a St. Andrew's Rock!  I feel so fortunate to have had this ride... like a Magic Carpet Ride... I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE EVERYONE! SAY HI. SHARE LOVE, LAUGHTER, AND THE JOY OF THE NIGHT.
I second Jay and Dottie. New and old, friends are a priceless part of life.

Hard to believe after all these months of hearing about it that the reunion is next week!  Such great memories:  Ms. Hernandez on my case for being late to Spanish everyday; Mr. Cannon helping with the college search and being so patient and supportive; crisp fall evenings trying to fire up the crowd at football games with the other drummers; Winning School of the Year; great times on Student Council with Doreen, Linda and so many others (including the gentle guiding hand of Mrs. Kline); cutting school to go to the beach with Martie Skinner.  But I like Dottie's idea best:  reconnect and make some new memories.

Hello CLassmates.
This isn't actually a memory. It's looking towards the futre! Only 15 days left till we see each other again!
I challenge everyone to mingle and introduce yourself to one classmates you didn't know in school! With over 100 people coming, there has to be at least one person you didn't know in 78'. Putting names to the faces should be challenge!
Sharing class memories with old friends is heart warming! Some won't attend future reunions and see these people again. Some classmates stay in touch for many years to come!
So, attend and have a great time! My intentions are to have a blast, and make new memories!!!
Always,
Dottie (O'Driscoll) Wear

I like Bert Wilkerson was so shy and introverted it is amazing that I go to know anyone. With all the time I spent studying and then all the school activities, it is a wonder I got out as quick as I did. I look very forward to seeing you all at the reunion. If none of you have seen me in awhile, I will be the one with the cap with two tassles on. One for the year I was to graduate, and one for the year I did.
See ya soon,

Okay....I found out today that someone (and I won't tell who) knows that Jay Crull...a fellow Rock who was a few years ahead of us.....was the one who drove the motorcyle down the main hallway at St. Andrews! That would be just like him to do so!
But, I am sorry to say that I see in todays paper that Jay has just passed away. I know the people who knew him must have had lots and lots of laughs as I hear that Jay was a true free spirit!

HAHAHA!  Reading some of these posts will spark some memories and what Ellen said earlier....she remembers the bad stuff LOL....well, I hope that wasn't my brother who rode his motorcycle in the hallway...it seems to me that he did do that, however, he did SO MANY bad/funny things...I just can't remember if it was him or not.  He was six years older than me and always getting into trouble!!  The mention of Mr. McGrath....gosh, I forgot about him!  He was too funny.  He really made everyone laugh on a daily basis! And there was mention of Ms. Austin...oh yeah...the guys REALLY liked her.... she was beautiful...I was thinking that she taught sociology though, however, I would have to look it up in the annual.  I dropped the class b/c she spent our class time in the hallway flurting with some man!!  And Mrs. Jefferson, OMG.......she was a trip.....now that was a funny lady...and one day during class, she got all fired up and excited about what we were cooking and she got to talking really fast...about that time her false teeth came flying out of her mouth onto the floor and rolled right in front of where I was sitting......I about died laughing!!!

Hey, I remember something about the motorcycle person driving down the front hall! Does anyone know who it was? I was always proud to be a "ROCK" but, never understood why a rock as a mascot! Yea, it was cool having a smoking area in our school. Can't believe it took nearly 30 years to stop smoking in public places.
Speaking of the Sadie Hawkins Dance, it was amazing home many girls had those Daisy Dukes. And how short they were!
Here's a funny one for ya! I got a little too close to those concrete benches out in front of the school. I drove my fiance's car to school one day. I pulled up close to a friend who was on the bench...well it was a little too close. I scraped his car down the side. Wow, was the embarrasing! Didn't do it again! LOL I'm sure we all have a few of those memories!!!!

OK. Laugh but I remember all of the "bad" stuff! Someone in the spring of 1978 rode a motorcycle through the front hall. This included 3 steps up and 3 steps down! Who was it?
I remember eating a LOT of Burrito Supremes.
I still cannot believe we had a smoking area! Is that too much!?
People still cannot believe our school mascot was a rock. (Yes, yes I know the history, but it is a tad unusual!)
Remember the good looking Anthopolgy teacher? What was her name Ms Austin? She of the long tan legs, short skirt and high stool. Very popular class with the guys.
Mr McGrath in art made me laugh so much. I painted that wild horse mural my last year there. Someone else did the Star Trek one, which was great.
I remember some pretty wild outfits on Sadie Hawkins day. (Daisy Dukes!)
I remember Rocky Arcado (sp?) having an accident with a chainsaw clearing out by the bus lot and all the girls were so alarmed. "Not in the face was it?!" Didn't want any harm to come to that handsome face!
I remember people hooked on the Young and the Restless, (Luke and Laura) and watching it with the French teacher at lunch.

Okay Debora Sister/Girl - I see you have mentioned the old water ballons, however, we both know that SOME were, let's say, "acidentally" dropped from the overpass by the smoking area.  Sorry for those inocent victims who had to walk around wet for a few hours! And for those who saw us running down the hallway as fast as we could go....well now you know WHY!! Can't say that I was the best influence on Debora...or was it the other way around?? HAHAHA!  No, I wasn't the angel of the rocks group, but I have LOTS of fond memories of laughing until our sides hurt, letting others in on what was so funny...even if we didn't hang together...and then when the last bell had rung......we would see WHO would make it to the stables first whether it was for the eqestrian team practice for the school or just freedom and pleasure! Thanks to Debora, Cindy D., and Schell for making it interesting and fun!

I remember a 50's sock hop in the 9th grade.  Does anyone else remember that sock hop?

I did a chalk art drawing of a tree on the front lawn, with a park bench around it.  I entered it for art class for the Coastal Carolina Fair.

I remember helping keep score at a benefit basketball game we held in the gym.  It was our school vs a bunch of radio DJ's...one was from WKTM......remember?

I would like to say i had many memories of high school, but when you are shy, introverted book worm as I was then socializing was just out of the question. After finishing Harvard and then Yale for my doctorate I have found the time to "hang out" at the local library on Wednesday nights and can now say I have really found my wild side. If only had known of this lifestyle thirty years ago.

My most memorable moment was in Speach Class. It was the day the teacher decided we needed to do impromptu speaches. And the first person she calls on (naturally a male), gets up on the stage and starts his speach, with a straight face, saying "You know those commercials that come on tv? ...The ones while your sitting there with your girlfriend? ...And you just want to crawl under the couch..."  I don't remember who it was, but to this day I remember what he said and that he had the guts to get up there in front of everyone and talk about it.

I remember doing those skits in Spanish class for Mrs. Hernandez and the fear she could put in your mind if you spoke a word of English!  Randy McNeil and I did a skit as Batman and Robin.  I remember loving geometry in Miss Compton's class, Mrs. Blakely for English, we had good teachers, Mrs. Anderson keeping us straight in our accounting!  Remember the old days learning to type on those typewriters?  I remember those brutal hot August days of football camp, sucking down salt tablets like candy, now they tell us we should have died from that!  I remember playing b-ball in the gym, even on some days we were not supposed to be in there (nuff said!).

Then there was Mr. Richardson for English. He was a "cool" teacher. I remember he seemed to hang around Ms Pam Robinson alot. Does anyone know something I didn't? I always wondered if they were an item!

I remember the senior steps and how the underclassmen would have their pants taken off and run up the flagpole! J  Pep rallies were a lot of fun getting ready for the games. Typing class with big clunky typewriters compared to what we have now. High school was such a carefree time, although we didn’t think so at the time. Well I enjoyed my years at St. Andrews. Some of the teachers were very caring, others were tough as nails! I remember all the pep rally's, there was alot of school spirit. Another memory I have is being able to leave for lunch. There was always a line at the Piggly Wiggly...their red rice was to die for! Then there was the corner store. (7-eleven i think).
