Fellow Rocks,

It is time to play some golf together.  I am organizing a Best Ball event for Saturday morning.  The format of the event and our start time depend on the number of you who want to join us in playing some golf.  Once I get a list of those interested and some idea of handicap, I'll create some teams and we'll battle for the incredible prize (I buy the winners a drink that night).

Right now, I am thinking about Stono Ferry south of town www.stonoferrygolf.com.  It's one of my favorite tracks.  But that could change based on the number of folks interested in playing.  Right now, we have a confirmed 4-some.

So, bring the sticks and let me know you want to play, and I'll get things lined up.  If you are concerned about being good enough, remember, TRUE distance knows no direction.  We'll be gripping and ripping...golf balls are cheap.

To get on the list, send me an e-mail.  I'll keep the confirmed list and the expect-to-play list (which becomes "confirmed" when I get your money) updated on the website.  If you had not planned to play and suddenly find that you can, let me know and I'll do everything possible to get you included.

More to follow…

David

Hey classmates!

Ed Pettus here, coming to you from West Virginia, just off I-77 at exit 9, stop by if you are going skiing at Winterplace.  Linda and I have been discussing the possibility of concluding our reunion weekend with a worship service.  The idea is to have a time to sing a few songs, I will give a “brief” message, and a few other things (still planning).  The service will be an opportunity for us to reflect on how far we have come in 30 years and a time to say our goodbyes for now!  We are tentatively scheduled to meet at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on Wappoo Rd. right across the street from our old stomping grounds, probably Sunday afternoon, 1pm or so.

In light of this opportunity I though you might want to know who I am today!  I became a Christian in 1979 while at Newberry College and after graduation spent two years in Orlando Fla. working with Young Life Ministries as youth director at John Knox Presbyterian Church (’84-86).  I attended Columbia Theological Seminary (CTS) in Decatur Ga. from 1986-89 and earned a Masters in Divinity.  In 1989 I was ordained as Minister of Word and Sacrament in the Presbyterian Church USA and for the next twelve years I served as pastor at McBee Presbyterian Church in McBee, SC.  During that time I earned a Doctorate in Ministry (’98) also at CTS.  I have been the pastor at Princeton Presbyterian, Princeton WV since January 2001.  Join us; it will be fun!  Dress casual!

If you are interested in participating in the closing service, please RSVP!  Peace.
